Last pratical before project submission! Ok so i'll start with my impression of Smithsonian Institute’s Website http://www.si.edu/

I had a good impression about this website the first time i visited it. I gave it a 8/10. Its nicely done with good presenation and arrangement of cotents in a logically and consistent manner. Its also very user friendly with tabs and links clearly visible. There are also site map and search facility to aid in the usability of this website. It got an eight over ten and not a full marks because i think that although its well arranged and presented, theres too much information on the homepage itself overwhelming the readers.

The most important lesson I learnt throughout the developing of my portfolio is the evaluating of websites. It helps me differentiate the good websites from the not so good ones and what kind of information i can use. I also learnt how to use boolean operaters in my search to enhance the result of searches which really saves alot of time for me. On the whole i think UIR is a very good subject because its not as stressful as some other CDS but its really very helpful especially since i'm from BIT so doing researches are part n parcel of the course.
Evaluate another three websites from my bibliograhpy for practical 7. This time its easier because I knew what to look for and where to look for them after doing it the first time the last pratical. Evaluating websites helps alot in doing researches as I learnt that not all information presented can be used as some maybe bias or the write personal opinions. As two of the three websites evaluated are blogs, I find that sometimes a blog isn't a very good source for information, but they certainly are a good source to find links to some very good websites about the same subject.

Evaluation of Internet Resources

URL: http://www.advancedbusinessblogging.com/

This is my 1st time evaluating internet resources in terms of purpose, coverage, authority, accuracy, currency, accessibility, presentation and usability. After evaluating the website, I know how to differentiate good websites from not so good ones. I also learnt how to find and use information on the world wide web more efficiently. I think that the most important factors are currency, purpose, coverage and authority as they determine the quality of the information provided.

1st time using Meta searcg engine, and only after this exercise did i know that Yahoo is actually a subject directory and not a search engine. Common search engine and subect directory such as Google and Yahoo are easy to use have give relevant results. I find meta search engine not as useful as search engine or subject directory such as Google and Yahoo. Perhaps its because it is the 1st time im using one but i find that the results they gave are not as relevant as results yield from using Google or Yahoo.

Ok so now im suppose to find 2 exciting websites using any search facility that are particularly interesting to me.

1st one, TeamTalk
I frequent this rather than soccernet because i find that this websites provide more information about the game and also they update more often. There are also news that cant be found on soccernet here. They also have a section called papertalk which shows all things bout soccer found in the various newspaper in the UK.

2nd, The DugOut
As im playing the FM07 now, this is the best forum imo that provides information from and for the game. Also includes other users opinon on the game which i find very useful.
